When Casey's husband Mike is contacted by the state officials at a Saturday morn to enlist their help in taking care of the boy for just a few days Casey, unable to resist the challenge, agrees.Having her own prematurely grown up son Tyler headed for football camp, Casey figures that the matter will not be that troublesome while Connor only goes to preschool.

Although Connor from the beginning gives the impression of being very rough and obnoxious, Casey warms up to him, especially because she sees the scared child behind those small sparks of aggression.He impresses her in many ways and she wonders whether they should let the situation continue after the first few days.Eventually (and almost coincidentally) Casey finds herself attracted to him as well.When Connor's behaviour escalates into serious offenses Casey must decide whether to report it and possibly lose Connor or risk becoming romantically involved with him.
